Happy Fun Monday again everyone! This week I am actually posting On Time! Amazing, I know! So, this edition of Fun Monday is brought to us by Jo Beaufoix (who has finally gotten her blog back up and running! Congrats Lady!), and She would like to hear about our first Celeb Crushes. Here's what she had to say about this week's challenge...
So I set you all that challenge.
You know, the one where I said,
“I want to know about your first ‘celebrity’ crush. You know, the one you fancied from that band, or that film, or who read the news, or who won Gold at the Olympics.
Did you have their pictures on your wall or in your locker?
Did you dress like them, style or colour your hair like them, follow them, meet them, marry them? (It could happen.)
Photos of THEM would be good, photos of YOU at the time you liked them would be even better.
Also, if you have time, I’d like to know whether they had any influence over your life, the person you became, or if they were just an embarrassing blip you would kind of rather forget about.”
Wow did I have to go back! I thought of Rick Springfield and Richard Marx first, but realized that they were there for my mid to late teen years. So I went back a little farther and there he was just as if he were still staring out of my closet at me with those perfect hazel eyes. Ladies and Gents, meet the first man that I cut from Tiger Beat... Heck, began buying teen mags just to see his new pics, and add to my closet shrine...
*Happy Sigh*
I have never been much for watching the soaps, but sometime during the summer of 1982 I happened to be flipping through the channels and saw... Him... The one... My heart nearly beat out of my chest when he flashed a smile, I went all mushy on the inside and simply could not tear myself away from General Hospital after that just in hopes that Blackie would appear. Thankfully I was not dissappointed!
I wasn't allowed to hang posters on my walls, so I started cutting small images from the magazines and taping them to my dresser mirrors. Soon they were full to the point that I had only a hole barely big enough to see my face, and I had to expand. Back of the door was also off limits especially after I was caught roller skating in the kitchen and put a stopper through the pantry door. OOPS! So I found a dowel rod and started my shrine in my closet. I had plans to marry John, and have little John babies all with those striking eyes and perfect hair (of course!). He was an eleven year old's dream. I believe the shrine stayed up well into his days on Full House, and finally came down when Rick Springfield and Richard Marx found their own places in the closet shrine. But to this day, I still smile when I see a pic of my first love, and remember sleeping with the closet door open just so his face would be the first I saw when I woke up the next morning.
Ok... so you've read My story, now go see who everyone else crushed on! I know I am! Have a Fun Monday Y'all!

That sure is a good pick!
The only reason I remember watching BJ and the BEar was because of his monkey and big rig. LOL! I know I'm Weird!
Am I the OLDEST one here today...well, except for PamelaJamela?
Good lookin' I guess.
Whew! Is it hot in here?
I think he's handsome, but let me tell you, I’m a lot older than you and I, until this day Love Richard Marx. I’m actually going to see him on the 11th of this month.
Great choice! John stamos still looks great - especially on ER!

Have a Fun Monday!
Swampy I'm way older than you and pamela~ just to set the record straight!! BUT I can still recognise a hunk when I see one!!
I'm beginning to see some trends in many of the FM posts. Let's hear it for black hair and smiling eyes!
I think I'm the oldest, is this a contest? Great post, and still a hunk.
I just can't figure out why Rebecca or whatever her name was, left him and ended up with that fellow she is with now.
Makes ya wonder if she just couldn't live with someone prettier than her
Now he grew up to be a bit handsome didn't he!?
Yea, there are just some men that age so gracefully that it makes you just wanna sigh.... Cary Grant was like that!
I always loved Blackie! I did watch soaps back then with my mom. Neither one of us do now. But I only liked Blackie until everyone went Gaga then I was done.
If I have to fess up to a crush I will.Barbra Eden of I dream of genie fame.
This was cute and fun tribute to John who I loved, followed on GH into Full House. Loved his hair. Still call him Blackie to this day so my mom will know who I am talking about. Watch him on ER now, do you? I had Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy & Donny Osmond on my walls. I went to Osmond concerts but never got to meet him although I wanted to marry him as you did John. I only had photos others took of him but I still like to see him even now. I watched an Osmond special on PBS and it was like seeing an old friend as I sang along to the old songs. Thanks for doing this post and bringing back these memories. Man I really loved his hair!
Hey sweetie! It was Fab-o seeing you yesterday! I enjoyed the day so much - very easy going.
Come over to my site and look at today (Sunday's post) and share a name with me!
Jennifer
I should have went into the pop icon realm of work. SUrely I could have caused a controversy even in the 70s and 80s. The difference is I don't have much hair now - but then never does Peter Frampton.
