I've jumped off officially... Fun Monday

I've been reading all these new blogs lately that I found through my friends Jerri and Jenn. They've been participating in all these fun group postings and so I'm jumping in too. I hope y'all don't mind me piggybacking, so here goes!

It's Fun Monday and this week's host is Mariposa over at Mariposa's Tales. Want to learn more about Fun Mondays? Check out the Complete List and read the history Here.

Today's Questions are 1) What's in a Name? and 2) What's on your Plate?

1) Jenn's Inklings... It's really quite simple, I love my papercrafts and settled on scrapbooking for a while. The blog was called Tale of a Mad Scrapper for a while... then I found my love of rubberstamping and became a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! and changed it to Jenn Stamps for a while, and then realized that I do more talking than actual stamping so Jenn's Inklings came to be. I think this one fits me oh so much better... I'm a talker, love to tell stories, love my crafty habits, and can often be found up to my elbows in ink, literally. I mean, who's ever seen a pristinely clean handed crafter? :o)

2) Well... on my plate last night was a recipe I got from a new show on the Food Network. I've been addicted to the Food Network for years, and happen to be married to a chef, so it works. I love trying new recipes as long as they are easy to prepare and I can get the ingredients at my local grocery. So, last night I tried Get Yo Man Chicken from Down Home with the Neely's. Yep, I think it's one of my new favorites, the dish And the show! I just wish that I would have snapped a pic of my plate before diving in. DH liked it too... so I guess I'll be Keeping my Man with this dish in the rotation!

Some of my Favorite foods tend to be soups and stews. (Wow... I never really thought about it until I looked over this list. The things you learn.) Hot and Sour Soup, Crab/Lobster Bisque, Homemade Chili, Homemade Beef Stew, and Curried Pumpkin Soup. I can also appreciate a good Burger, a nicely cooked Steak, and a plate of BBQ when the mood strikes. Oh, and let's not forget that sweet tooth! Cake, Pie, Cookies, yeah... I didn't get all this junk in my trunk by eating like a rabbit.

So, now I'm off to add my name to the Mr. Linky thingie and officially join this thing! Have a Fun Monday Y'all!

I like your blog name. I'm just getting into stamping myself. I love soups, too. I make a fabulous Leak soup - creamy and delicious (if I do say sdo myself!)

Welcome to Fun Monday. It's my first time today, too!

From one artsy person to another- what fun is it if your hands stay clean? I can tell the success of my project by how dirty my hands get!!

I'm a Food Network groupie myself. As far as I am concerned there are only three tv channels. HGTV, TLC and the Food Network.

Hey Jenn,

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! the Leek Soup recipe is ridiculously simple, but so good. Here it is:

Leek Soup

1 Tbsp butter
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
2 large leeks, well washed and chopped
1 carrot, peeled and cut into small chunks
salt and pepper to taste
4 cups chicken broth
1/2 - 1 cup cream, (or half & half or milk)

Melt butter in large, deep saucepan. Add the vegetables. Season with salt and pepper and cook over medium heat stirring frequently for 2 or 3 minutes.

Add the broth and cook until the vegetables are very tender, about 20-25 minutes.

Add cream (or milk, whatever you have). Puree in blender. Reheat if neccessary. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Enjoy!

YEE-HAW Jenn joined the square dance! Love it LoVe it LOVE it! I like Jen's Inklings too, envied it's catchiness as well ( I'm a Jenn, why couldn't I have a cool name like that) But I guess it suits you better. Skunked again! And the food part, that was just TOO easy for me! I like that you actually cook a recioe from those shows - I am impressed! Jennifer

Happy Fun Monday! Your name makes total sense. :) Do you get torn between blogging and stamping? I do between my vices. :)

Any kinda chicken sounds good to me. :)

Welcome to fun Monday~ you have a cute name for your blog and reading about all that lovely food has made me feel hungry as I haven't had breakfast yet (8am here in the UK).

LOL! Who can resist a recipe with a name like that? The curried pumpkin soup sounds like something I'd really love to try, but I think that would be renamed "Lose Your Man Soup" in this house. Danny would be havin' none of that!

Welcome to Fun Monday's!

Great blog name. I have not gotten into stamping or scrapbooking. Personally I think mainly due to dh's desire that I don't. lol I tend to become OCD with crafts.

Thanks for linking some yummy sounding recipes!
