Ok... I've got to vent. I've been an OB nurse for over 11 years and I believe I've heard it all by now. I know I've not had any babies of my own, but still... How in the flippin world can you be carrying a worming, squirming, poking, prodding, wiggling, hiccup having, elbow/knee/feet/head/butt/hands pushing out/up/down, laying on your bladder, pushing up on your diaphragm, hooking their toes onto your ribs and not letting go, living BABY inside you and say that you DIDN'T KNOW IT?!?!? ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!! I'm sorry, but I've never ever heard of Gas that Kicked! Needless to say this particular gal is in no way ready to deal with the situation that she's created for herself and I can only hope that a social worker can help her to figure out her next step. So... guys... please pray for this gal and all the others out there that are trying to grow up way to fast.
and now for the Public Service Announcement part....
If you are, know of anyone that is, or could possibly be in a similar situation, PLEASE point them to the nearest health department for care of themselves and their babies. Get them in a system that can at least help them to enter into this next stage of their lives with some sort of knowledge of what's to come and some tools to help them better deal with it. The system may not be perfect, but it is better than nothing.
Ok... off the soapbox and off to bed!
Nighty night!
