I visited my parents for Mother's Day and took Mom a scrapbooked canvas that I did of her chihuahua Mindy that she lost just before Thanksgiving.
Background: Modge Podge, Making Memories paint & tissue paper on an 8x8 canvas
Stamps: Whimsical Alphabet, Delight in Life, Doodle This - All by Stampin' Up!
Ink : Stampin' Up! Basic Black & Real Red Stampin' Write marker
Accessories: Brown checked & paw print ribbon
My friend Mona and I went up to Cleveland, AL to pick strawberries at Jerri's Dad's patch. We ended up picking 6 buckets of berries - 5 for us, and one to grow on! Boy were they sweet and delicious! Especially fresh off the vine standing right in the field!
Don't these pictures make you want some?!?!
This would be Jerri, with Mona behind her. The "shed" where they sold the berries.
Workers out picking berries to sell to the public. Man were they fast!
Came home and cleaned my two buckets of berries and the next day I made Sugar Free Strawberry Preserves! I never even knew that there was something you could make preserves with and use Splenda! I ran across this little box of beauty and snapped it up so I wouldn't have to go off my diet too badly just to have a little taste of those strawberries post season! I've made freezer jelly before with Mom's supervision, but this was my very first try at doing any type of canning on my own! I'm sooo Proud! :o)
Yeah Baby! The end result! Ain't they purty!!!
Otherwise, It's been business as usual around the ole homestead. Not much to write about really. I did do some stamping and will upload some pics of my latest projects tomorrow. I've got to get some rest so I can go and tear it up at Homestead Hollow in the morning! It's a crafter's paradise yanno!
Till Later!
Jenn :o)
